Vallter 2000: 8 hours in the Gironese wind

My brother Stuart has been out for a solid weeks training before he tackles the Paris-Nice cycletour - he's managed a quality 27 hours this week, which has been very hot and windy, while I managed to squeeze in 18 between work. Thursday's was an epic ride from my door to the top of Vallter 2000, the Pyrenean ski-station that has seen Vuelta and Semana Catalana stages. 4 hours 15 to the top with a very windy final ascent from Setcases. A quick snack in Comprodón was followed by 3.5 hours via capsacosta and banyoles on the road back into a quite brutal headwind.

'El presidente' Brian Cookson is out for a weeks training this week before he heads to the Etape. We did the Tossa-St. Grau run today on Stuarts last day with Ollie Cookson also in attendance. I'll be glad of a rest day tomorrow before some more quality miles next week. Still felt sluggish today after Thursday but did St. Grau (from sign on coastal road to the absolute top 2k beyond the ermita) in a not too shabby 17:05.
